NW Truffle Dogs

The Oregon Truffle Festival leads in promoting the exclusive use of truffle dogs to ensure harvest of the highest quality truffles while preventing the environmental harm caused by raking. NW Truffle Dogs has partnered with the Oregon Truffle Festival to produce the Truffle Dog Training Seminar held at the Festival each January, and in the development of standards for certification of truffles harvested by trained truffle dogs.

If you are fortunate enough to possess some Douglas Fir trees 10 - 30 years old you may be host to one of Oregon and Washington's true natural treasures. Give us a call to have one of our certified MycoPilot TM teams perform a site evaluation or harvest. Even if truffles aren't in season we can come out and give you an idea of the potential outlook. Our suveyors are reliable, professional and have to pass a rigorous test to ensure that the handler and dog team can make an accurate assement and perform harvests quickly. All of our surveyors have also passed a background check and subscribe to a high standard of ethics. While truffles on your tree farm probably aren't going to set you for retirement, they are at least a lovely addition to your dinner table, bound to impress company and a potential indicator to crop alternatives you may not have otherwise considered.
